Jaipur Surgical Gurukul (JSG)

We at the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Hospital (MGMCH), Jaipur are planning to launch a Jaipur Surgical Gurukul (JSG) for MCh/DNB-SS (SGE/HPB Surg) students (III year) sometime around March April 2022.

You will arrive in Jaipur on a Saturday - stay through the week - and leave Jaipur on the next Sunday.

You will participate in academic sessions, present cases, attend ward rounds, observe OT, discuss operations, etc. (and have some free time to see the city!).

The Gurukul is FREE for the students i.e there will be NO registration fee but you have to pay for your boarding and lodging - we will provide help for making these arrangements.

In order to avail of the FREE registration, you have to prepare and send

  • i. a real-life case summary (including history, examination, investigation reports, images, operative findings, operative procedure, postoperative complications, biopsy report, etc)
  • ii. a topic for presentation in the form a seminar (with review of recent literature)
  • iii. an operative procedure (including indications, contraindications, procedure, complications, results, etc)

Priority will be given to those students who could not pass the MCh/DNB-SS practical (clinical) exam in an earlier attempt.

If you would like to attend, please email me at vkkapoor.india@gmail.com with a YES JSG and indicate a week in January, February or March 2022 which will suit you best - we will then decide the dates.
